From star Oregon winemaker Jay C. Somers, this Pinot Noir is blended from three Dundee Hills vineyards. Abundant with red fruit and acid-driven tannins, “Nouvelle Lune” is extremely food-friendly, elegant, and terroir-driven.
Appellation (AVA): Dundee Hills, Willamette Valley, OR
Vineyard: 50% Abbey Ridge, 40% La Colina and 10% Nicholas Family.
Grapes: 100% Pinot Noir
Soil: Red Jory
Vinification: 100% destemmed and fermented using native yeast. Malolactic fermentation occurred naturally. Wine matured for 20 months in barriques (25% new). Bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Tasting Notes: Forest floor, tart cranberry, ripe raspberry, red plum, earthy dried herb, rainy asphalt, dried herbs, cranberry, raspberry, sour cherry, plum, dry tannins, spicy cinnamon finish. Light to medium bodied.
Service and Food Pairing Suggestion: Pair with duck liver paté, seared salmon with cranberry-herb sauce, garlicky slow-cooked parmesan chicken.
