Appellation (AVA): Russian River Valley AVA, Sonoma, CA

Vineyard: Nakai Vineyard

Grapes: 100% Merlot

Soil: Rocky and clay rich (Huichica)

Vinification: Foot tread and whole cluster fermentation. After 10 days on skins, the Merlot was pressed to stainless steel to finish primary fermentation. Aged in the lees in neutral oak barrique and one neutral puncheon for 10 months.

Tasting Notes: Aromas of savory tomato paste and sundried tomatoes, the palate has just ripe plum notes, with silky, moderate tannins. Medium bodied and dry.

Service and Food Pairing Suggestion: Serve at cellar temperature. Pair with a hearty shakshuka or eggplan parm.
