French vintage tastevin ( wine tasting cup). This little wide-brimmed cup was used for tasting the wine in the cellar. The bumps on the bottom of the cup were not intended to aerate the wine but to facet reflected light. Traditional wine glasses were too deep to judge precisely the wine's color in dim light.

Winemakers devised tastevin with a shiny inner surface and a convex bottom. This combination allowed the shiny inner shell to capture as much available light as possible and reflecting throughout the wine in the cup. Allowing you to better appreciate the brightness, color, and clarity of the wine. It has a small handle where is partially inserted small flat support where support is the thumb and the index finger.
